fic and art recs (lots of various stuff)

Snarry 3

So sweet. I love Severus's glasses and apparent age and the contented familiarity in him ruffling Harry's hair.

Connichi 2009 - poking Snape
by ~HowellJenkinsSama on deviantART

There are some other photos of this interesting Snape cosplay as well. Normally I would say that nose prosthesis takes it over the top into slightly cruel caricature, but somehow it really brings this particular costume together.

The Long Road
by ~TGP on deviantART

I loved the moody colour and how a frightened child grows into a sullen teenager, a disaffected adult, and then a total mystery with his back turned to the viewer. Very simply drawn but quite effective.

The Banes of Her Existence
by *Vizen on deviantART

This made me LOL IRL. Just look at Severus and Minerva's poses and expressions, and Albus's drink with the umbrella! Poor woman, being headmistress and sharing an office with those two...

summar-y, summar-ah, summar-y, summar-ah-ha-ha-ha...

Disclaimer: Do not take too seriously. I am not necessarily saying the fics in question are bad ones. Sometimes they are horrible, but more often they are just mediocre, and sometimes quite okay, but they all had something in their summaries that I found goofy, misused, or amusing in some other way.

Bonus crack!ficlet in this one, but beware of puns. Please wear appropriate safety equipment to avoid lethal exposure.

The afterlife of Severus Snape and other characters. This is a religious story, believe it or not, but Sev does go "down south," but I love him anyway: .

All right, "The Devil Went Down to Hogwarts"! I love this song!

-----

After years of believing that he was dead, Severus Snape is seen by none other than Hermione Granger.

Unfortunately, she happens to see him just donning his silvery, translucent dressing gown after a ghostly shower. Insert girly squeal here.

They easily become friends, and maybe even more.

"Easily"? Must be AU then.

How many chances can one man truly get?

Well, how much money did one man truly put up for casino chips?

summaries

I think people have been doing better than usual lately, because it's taken me a while for me to build up even this many, and this only a half batch. (A full batch would be 10; I settled on that as a kind of standard to stop me building up huge pools of way-too-many, and now... this?)

Disclaimer: Do not take too seriously. I am not necessarily saying the fics in question are bad ones, but they had something in their summaries that I found goofy, misused, or amusing in some other way. Sometimes the fics are horrible, but most frequently they're simply mediocre, and occasionally there's a perfectly good one that just had a funny slip-up in the summary.

Hermione is a cheaufur's daughter who is in love with the young son of the wealthy family they serve. A re-telling of the 1950's movie 'Sabrina' with your favorite Harry Potter charaters

cheaufur n. Someone who wears a plush suit in the design of a car-driving manservant.

-----

(The entire summary. This one's not bad, but I was too amused by this idea.)

Another fragment of Snape.

Awesome! I've almost got the whole set. Better start making that Sticking Solution to assemble them with...

Bonus crack!ficlets at the end of this one. )

return of the son of the sister-in-law of summaries

Wow, it's sure been a long time since I did a batch of these. I've built up quite a few RSS-feed stars over about six weeks.

NB: Do not take too seriously. I am not necessarily saying the fics in question are bad ones, but they had something in their summaries that was goofy, misused, or amusing in some other way. Sometimes the fics are horrible, but most frequently they're simply mediocre, and occasionally there's a perfectly good one that just had a funny slip-up in the summary.

Ever had a time where you didn't know what to do. Harry's starting his 6th year but before he starts he founds out he has a father but who.

So until the age of 16 Harry he thought he was an immaculate conception?

A dark figure lies in wait at Hermione's house. She arrives home to a surprise she certainly wasn't expecting.

abandonfic #6: my snapedom summerfest failures

(abandon fic! abandon fic!)

Title: (none — for Last Kiss)
Characters: Severus/Lily
Rating: PG
Words: 140
Warnings: None

Why I give up: The first stanza was inspired. The rest are just imitations. Trying to carry on poetry like this very rapidly starts sounding very forced. I would never have got this up to 1000 words (the fest minimum).

Now kiss me again... )

Title: (none - for Severus helps Draco brew Elixir of Euphoria)
Characters: Severus, Lucius
Rating: G
Words: 79
Warnings: None

Why I give up: I think it's pretty obvious. This is just going nowhere fast.

I'm going to have to teach this brat... )

Title: It's In the Script (for Beltane Rite NC-17, NWS)
Characters: Severus mostly; Severus/Harry implied; various combinations of Severus/Harry/Draco also kinda implied
Rating: strong PG-13 or soft R
Words: ~840
Summary: The course of true dreaming ne'er did run smooth.
Warnings: None

Why I give up: Normally I have no problem with crack, but this is stupid crack, with a gimmick that only leads to exasperated head-shaking. Totally fails to deliver on smut; I just can't write Severus/Harry, I guess.

Does anyone remember where that journal or community was that was trying to be a master directory of active fests, so as to help people planning a fest or exchange from tripping over each other with dates and themes and all that? I am pondering whether to try to actually do something with [info]hp_crackdealers, having taken it off I think it was [info]nishizono's hands, but I have a sinking feeling that the docket is pretty full already.

ETA: [info]ships_harry appears to have got it.

esmestrella says:
"Snape doesn't have his own collection of "Chuck Norris" jokes because there is nothing such jokes could possibly say that everyone doesn't already know in their very souls."

Stygian says:
lol
although really... chuck norris = blah

esmestrella says:
i know
but it's its own ... thing... that can be used to build larger jokes, as demonstrated here. heheh
i mean, if i say "chuck norris joke", you know i don't just mean a joke that happens to involve chuck norris, or a joke actually about chuck norris
it's a specific brand of posturing keep-topping-each-other absurdity
and i am now going to veer entirely away from the implied pondering on snape "topping" chuck norris
...ew

Stygian says:
... pizza!

esmestrella says:
you see that line there? there was a line. that one right there. and what did i do? i went right the fuck on over it

Stygian says:
chuck norris toppings!

esmestrella says:
sure! yeah!
pizza!
let's go widdat
cannibal.. pizza
because that's a lot less disturbing
(actually, it kinda is)

fic: The Voice and the Fire (Severus, Metatron, humour/crack, PG)

xpost from [info]snape100

This was a big (well, medium-sized) mess of warm fuzzy (feathery?) Alan-Rickmany fun. This week's challenge is "Crossover", and I pleaded in a comment for someone to do Dogma. [info]nimrod_9 and [info]bluestocking79 picked up on it and wrote me Metatron/Severus drabbles. (bluestocking79's; nimrod_9's.) So, of course, as soon as I complained that I had tried and failed, bingo, I had 200 words.

-----

Thanks [info]nimrod_9 and [info]bluestocking79; yours were great. But after I posted the fragment I had thought of this morning in a comment on the second one, I found more words. So here's my take. A nice golden trio ;)

Challenge #202: Crossover Snape
Title: The Voice and the Fire
Word Count: 100 x 2
Rating: PG
Characters: Severus Snape, the Metatron
Notes: Crossover with Dogma. Hint of Catholic!Severus.

Behold the Metatron, herald of the Almighty... )

fun with snapeybot

oh god my face hurts can't stop laughing and i seriously think i am going to make myself vomit from the nonstop abdominal contractions MAKE IT STOP PLZ IT HURTS

I love bot chats. Reminds me of the olden days (= the early 90s) with Dr. Sbaitso. Actually I had an even more primitive such program for the C64, but there's only so much ELIZA-fu one can give a program that runs in less than 64k.
